Decommissioning procedure for mineral oil storage facilities

Scenario

Following the decision to cease refining operations at the Cremona site and convert the facility into a mineral oil storage depot, the company requested technical support to manage the exit from the scope of the IED permit and to obtain the necessary authorizations for the new storage activities.

Activities

  • Preparation of technical documentation for the decommissioning request pursuant to Article 1, paragraph 56, letter b) of Law 239/2004.
  • Technical preparation of communications and documentation required for exiting the scope of the IPPC permit, pursuant to Decree 368/2010.
  • Participation in the Services Conference and technical working groups at the Lombardy Region as part of the conversion project authorization process.
  • Drafting of the general decommissioning plan for refining activities.
  • Obtaining authorizations for atmospheric emissions (CTE) and water discharges related to storage activities, issued by the Province of Cremona.
